Having initiated with the paqos (indigenous healers of the Andean region), Peru always has a special place in my heart. It is timeless. The land is sweet, and she holds you in an unconditional embrace so that you can shed what no longer serves you, so that you can morph into the powerful being that you are.
During this retreat, you will be connecting with the sacred medicines of Mother Ayahuasca for rebirth, and Grandfather Cactus Huachuma for ascension into ecstatic joy.
You will engage with various indigenous healing ceremonies to the region, and work with the power animals of the medicine wheel to deepen your healing and to receive insights into your purpose.
This retreat is designed for those ONLY with a strong calling to evolve totally from the inside out, and to connect with their spirit through ancient ceremonial practices.

The Daily Schedule
There is a structured flow everyday that moves with the elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether) in conjunction with the Andean medicine wheel. This is a snapshot into what activities are available. However, you will not be given a schedule of what is happening when as the surprise element of the retreat will keep you in constant presence. You are asked to stay open and to receive come what may.

Johnson Chong
Shaman, Best-selling Author, TedX Speaker
Johnson Chong is the best-selling author of Sage Sapien: From Karma to Dharma. He is also a TedX Speaker, shaman and the founder of Sage Shamanic Yoga where he trains aspiring yoga & breathwork teachers. Through the synthesis of the most applicable teachings of yoga, meditation, breathwork, coaching and shamanic healing, his trainings are designed to help people quiet the mind, awaken the heart and free themselves of the roadblocks that keep them from living more authentically and joyfully. He has spoken and led workshops at companies like Unilever, Facebook, Nike, Macquarie, Insight Timer, UBS, UOB and more.
Johnson is also initiated as a paqo shaman of the Andean Q’ero priests, a Four Winds Energy Medicine Health Coach, and a Reiki Master. He is a native New Yorker, and currently is based in Sydney, Australia.

We’ve done some many amazing things, rafting down rivers, going to temples and seeing so many fascinating things. We did a number of workshops every day, and the shamanic journeys were something I’ve never done before. You can actually feel the energy move through your body. I would happily do it all over again.

It’s perfectly normal for people to attend retreats alone. If you prefer a single room, we will honour that. If you want to paired with a new friend, please email us your preferences (i.e are you a light sleeper, do you snore, etc?). We will pair you with someone who we believe would be a good match for you. If 90 days before the retreat there isn’t a sufficient pairing, you will be asked to upgrade your room to either twin or single.
Taxi services in Peru are relatively easy. As everyone will be arriving and leaving at different times. We can send you a driver to pick you up or you can take an Uber which is very reliable and straightforward.
Due to the intensity of the sacred plant medicines and healing ceremonies that we will be partaking in. We will not be visiting Machu Picchu during the week of the retreat. We will be visiting other Incan sacred places as some of our plant medicine ceremonies will take place in these power spots. If you would like to schedule time to visit Machu Picchu, we recommend you either arrive earlier before the retreat begins, or stay after the retreat ends to visit. There are plenty of travel agencies that can help you organise a trip to Machu Picchu, please send an email to sage@johnsonchong.com and we can give you a recommendation.
All the meals are included during the retreat according to the meal plans. Any beverages outside of those meal plans are chargeable. If you are vegan or gluten free, an additional surcharge of $27.50 per day for all your meals are charged.
Children are not allowed at this retreat center at all. Only adults 18 and older who are committed to deep transformational inner work.
Complimentary Wifi will be available. Though, we highly encourage that you switch off your mobile devices during the retreat so that you can get the most our of this important time for yourself.
Yes, laundry is available for an additional service charge.
